Statement of Organizational Philosophy
Our point of view is developed from the recognition that throughout history wisdom is shared by all cultures. We hold that throughout the great diversity of belief, individual spiritual practice is based upon the personal work of the seeker of wisdom. We hold that enlightenment is a moment to moment practice of awakening mind, heart, and body. It is something each person mist do individually; rather than simply relying on tradition, authority, or force of passion
We hold that the antidotes to hatred, violence, and greed are wisdom, enlightenment, and the perennial spiritual values of humanity
We believe this can be done best by using philosophy as a conceptual technology and innovative art for developing better ways of creative idea generation.
What the F.P.S. is:
The freethinkers philosophical society is a non-profit member supported interfaith philosophical forum and think tank.
We conduct philosophy jams for creative novel idea generation and to presint some examples of innovative philosophical dialogue.
